Boeing and Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) have signed a strategic agreement to pursue jointly future business opportunities. The two companies have co-operated on a range of pro- grammes over the past 30 years, but it is the first time that the relationship has been based on a formal agreement.

The two companies will set up an executive steering committee co-chaired by Boeing president Harry Stonecipher and his IAI counterpart, Moshe Keret.

Among the significant deals which are already under way between the two companies, the Lahav division of IAI has teamed up with Boeing to upgrade US air force T-38 Talons, while the SHL division is the sole supplier of the Boeing 717 landing gear.

"These joint programmes show the potential. The agreement will reinforce the current operations and create numerous future opportunities," says Keret.
