Orders from Cargolux and Nippon Cargo Airlines for 18 cargo aircraft have allowed Boeing to launch its long-awaited stretch of the Boeing 747-400. The 747-8 will first enter service with Cargolux in late 2009. The manufacturer hopes to win its first orders for the 450-seat passenger version of the aircraft in 2006.
