Boeing has completed mating the single-piece wing with the fuselage of the X-32A Joint Strike Fighter concept demonstrator'. The company has started a series of fit tests of the two remaining major substructures, the vertical stabiliser and landing gear. The delta wing was attached to the fuselage within six hours at Boeing's Palmdale plant. Boeing's St Louis, Missouri, plant plans to complete the forebody for the second X-32B demonstrator in July. It will then be shipped to Palmdale for mating with the fuselage mid-section, which is in assembly.
