Bombardier has sold four twin-engined 415 amphibious firefighters to an existing yet undisclosed 415 owner in a deal worth around $162 million, including training and spares. Deliveries of the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW123AF-powered aircraft will span two years and start in the second quarter.

Since the 415 entered service in 1994, Bombardier says 79 aircraft have been delivered to governments and firefighting agencies across the world including in Canada, Croatia, France, Greece, Italy and Spain.

The 415 has a normal cruise speed of 120kt (335km/h). In an average mission of 11km (6nm) distance from water to fire, it can complete nine drops within an hour and deliver 55,230 litres (14,590USgal) of fire suppressant.
