0 The Bombardier 415 Multi-Purpose (MP) amphibian aircraft made its first flight earlier this month from North Bay Airport in northern Ontario, Canada. A variant of the purpose-built firefighting aircraft, the MP has been developed for search and rescue operations and coastal patrol. The test aircraft, which performed a 2h 35min flight, is one of two ordered by a European government and is scheduled for certification in May 2003,following a further 200h of test flights.
