Bombardier has reiterated the warning that it is taking a hard look at regional jet production rates to determine what level of cut to make in the fiscal fourth quarter.

"We have to decide exactly what needs to be done in both our businesses - business aircraft and regional aircraft. The commercial aircraft market is a tough market right now, so it's likely we will have adjustments. But I don't want to presume what we will say in [the fiscal] fourth quarter," says chief executive Pierre Beaudoin.

Bombardier's FY2009-10 ends on 31 January 2010. With new CRJ orders proving elusive, the manufacturer said in September that a CRJ reduction announcement would happen by the end of the fiscal year and would most profoundly impact production in the next fiscal year that begins on 1 February 2010.
