Bombardier has delivered the 500th Challenger widebody business jet. The first Challenger 600 was handed over in December 1980, and deliveries of the current $21.8 million Challenger 604 model began in January 1996. Bombardier says: "Since 1980 the Challenger has been sold to operators in more than 50 countries and amassed more than 1.7 million hours. Within four years the 604 has become the best-selling aircraft in the history of the Challenger programme."
