Bulgaria Air has signed an agreement to lease three Embraer 190 regional jets.
The carrier will take delivery of the aircraft in the first and third quarters of 2012.
The E-190s will be configured in a two-class layout, with eight 'Elite' seats and 100 economy class seats.
Bulgaria Air chief executive Yanko Georgiev said the aircraft will "broaden our network and complement our narrowbody fleet".
The carrier will operate the E-190s from its Sofia hub.
Bulgaria Air operates a fleet of three Airbus A319s, three A320s, three Boeing 737-300s and four British Aerospace BAe 146s, according to Flightglobal's ACAS database.
