Grob support

Grob Aerospace is establishing a US-based company in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to support the North American owners of the SPn light business jet, under development. Grob says: "The move reflects the fact that approximately half the SPn customer base to date is US-based." Grob Aerospace Inc will be responsible for maintenance, spare parts, warranty, sales, marketing, aircraft demonstration and completion design specification. The company is expected to be fully operational by the beginning of the fourth quarter.

JetBird appoints

Start-up air-taxi operator JetBird has appointed Stefan Vilner as its chief executive. Vilner joins the Dublin-based company from low-cost Danish carrier Sterling Airlines, where he held the post of chief commercial officer for the past four years. Vilner says JetBird will use the operating principles of successful low-cost commercial carriers such as Sterling.
