Saudi Cessna
Cessna is planning to open in February its first dedicated authorised sales centre in the Middle East. The 2,200m2 facility (23,680ft2) will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where 90% of the region's Citation fleet is based.
BBJ milestone
Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) has delivered to the Indian government its first of three BBJs on order, which will replace its existing fleet of 737-200s. The handover marks the 100th "green" BBJ delivery. Boeing says governments account for 35% of BBJ orders. The Indian BBJ will be completed at PATS Aircraft in Delaware.
Landmark grows
US business aviation services provider Landmark Aviation has acquired Vancouver International airport fixed-base operator Executive Aircraft to expand its existing, adjacent fixed-base operation. Landmark, which has added a Gulfstream G200 and G450 to its 40-strong managed fleet, is set to open a Honeywell TPE331 service centre in New Delhi, India next year with partner Magnum.
Wing skins
British Columbia-based Avcorp Industries is to produce metal-bonded wing skins for the Cessna Citation Mustang. Smiths Aerospace will supply bleed-air and anti-ice systems for the Embraer Phenom 300, while Eaton will provide the secondary power distribution unit and cockpit control panels for the Phenom 100.
Aircell licence
Airborne telecommunications manufacturer Aircell has received a US Federal Communications Commission frequency licence that the company says will enable it "to provide exclusive broadband connectivity to US airlines and business aircraft from early 2008".
FBO for Dulles
Washington Dulles airport opened a $60 million fixed-base operation (FBO) on 1 December.
