London order
Vancouver, Canada-based charter operator London Air Service has ordered a Bombardier Global Express XRS ultra-long-range business jet, which will be used mainly for intercontinental charters between North America and Northern Asia. London Air Services also operates four superlight Learjet 45XRs and two large-cabin Challenger 604s. Meanwhile, Bombardier has delivered the 300th Learjet 45 and 60 business jets. The superlight 45 was delivered to a US-based distributor of agricultural products and the Learjet 60 to an unnamed Finnish company.
Axxess installed
Duncan Aviation has completed the first installation of Aircell’s Axxess expandable satellite-communications system in a Dassault Falcon 2000. The basic installation provides two Iridium channels for voice and narrowband data.
King Air Winglets
BLR Aerospace is aiming for supplemental type certification and first deliveries of winglets on the Beechcraft King Air 300 turboprop by September. Everett, Washington-based BLR already offers winglets for the B200 and is expanding its US dealer network.
Midcoast delivery
US completions company Midcoast Aviation has taken delivery of the first two green Bombardier Challenger 850 corporate shuttles. The aircraft are part of a contract signed last month between the two companies for the completion of 41 business aircraft, including eight 850s, at Midcoast’s St Louis, Missouri base.
Contracts Boom
US maintenance and repair specialist Aviation Material & Technical Support (AVMATS) and lighting specialist LoPresti aviation are to supply LoPresti Boom Beams for operators of Raytheon Hawker 700 Series business jets.
