Online business aircraft charter brokers PrivateFly and Skyjet have completed their merger, with the two companies now operating as a single entity under the PrivateFly brand within Directional Aviation's OneSky subsidiary.
Directional acquired St Albans, UK-based PrivateFly in September 2018 to bolster OneSky's portfolio of business aircraft operators and brokers, which includes Skyjet, fractional ownership company Flexjet and block-charter provider Sentient Jet.
Directional also owns US maintenance firm Constant Aviation and aircraft remanufacturing company Nextant Aerospace – developer of the Challenger 604XT and 400XT/XTi business jets and the G90XT twin-turboprop.
PrivateFly is now setting out a roadmap with a view to creating the leading digital platform for on-demand business aircraft travel in the world.
"This is a very exciting year, as we ramp up our global presence and our offering," says Adam Twidell (above), who co-founded PrivateFly in 2008, and is now heading the new entity.
"We're increasing investment in our thriving digital platform; our buying power is strengthened even further under OneSky, as well as our emphasis on safety and service," he adds.
Twidell calls the PrivateFly booking platform "one of the largest in the EU and the USA". He is forecasting revenues of more than $100 million for the company in 2019, based on "significant growth" across these two markets.
