The aircraft on display (N50SJ) begun the SJ30i flight-test programme on 9 October at the company’s headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

The aircraft on display is fitted with a new Honeywell Epic 2.0 flightdeck which replaces the earlier SJ30-2’s Primus Epic fit.
“We’ll fly around 290h of tests,” says Mark Elwess, who is SyberJet chief test pilot and was at the controls for the first flight with the new avionics. “We expect Federal Aviation Administration in 18 months.”

The SJ30i is the latest iteration of the revamped twinjet that began as Sino-Swearingen SJ30 back in 2005. The enhanced SJ30x is expected to enter service in 2022.
