The expanding business aircraft market in the Asia Pacific region is to be boosted at Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress, in Hong Kong from September 3-6, this year.

The challenges and opportunities facing the regional and international aerospace community will be discussed and debated at the highest level during the Congress, which has now confirmed its preliminary programme.

Networking sessions and hosted opportunities to tour the Asian Aerospace exhibition will also be arranged to ensure delegates and speakers alike maximise their opportunities to do business in the Asia Pacific region.

The show – which has moved from Singapore – also includes the Aircraft Interiors Expo Asia exhibition.

Specialist Master Classes will also be held to complement the main Congress themes, and will include tracks on Business Aviation, Aircraft Finance, Maintenance, and East-West Technology Partnerships. Some of the confirmed speakers for the Business Aviation Master Class include Chuck Woods, chief executive officer, Jet Asia and chairman, Asian Business Aviation Association; Jason Liao, sales director - North Asia, Hawker Beechcraft and deputy chairman, Asian Business Aviation Association; Judith Moreton, managing director, Skyjet International, and Chris Buchholz, executive director and chief operating officer, Metrojet.

Clive Richardson, Senior vp of organisers Reed Exhibitions Aerospace and Defence Group says: “The use of corporate aircraft as a business tool is just starting to take off in the Asia Pacific region, and the growing interest we see from individuals and corporations, and particularly increased interest from airlines in this sector, is confirmation that there is a wealth of opportunity for business aircraft manufacturers.

“Certainly there are challenges in a market which is still in its relative infancy, but there is a recognition that to be in the market you need to be in early, and be willing to take a long term approach to the business.”

The event is expected to feature more than 500 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, with  12 national pavilions.

Augustine Siew, Director of Flight Operations for Asian Aerospace, added: “Our static display for business aircraft will be conveniently located at the Hong Kong Business Aircraft Centre, close to the exhibition site, and a number of slots have also been allocated at the international airport for companies wishing to organise customer demonstration flights.”
