BDLI president Gustav Humbert has chosen the Paris airshow to announce a sharp rise in exhibitors for next year's ILA in Berlin. With the number of exhibitors expected to top 1,000, Humbert says that the exhibition area will be expanded with the addition of a sixth pavilion.
Humbert, who is also chief operating officer of Airbus, believes ILA's importance to the industry will grow as a result of the new A380 and A400M programmes.
"ILA has built up its own international profile and become an indispensable fixture on the industry's exhibition calendar. It provides access to the highly developed aerospace markets of western Europe, as well as to the new partner states in Central and Eastern Europe. "Moreover, awareness is growing that Germany itself is one of the largest markets for commercial aircraft after the United States and China," says Humbert.
