Singapore-based cargo carrier Jett8 plans to commence passenger services.

It has informed the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) about its plans, but has not submitted an application, says a CAAS spokeswoman.

"They have made known their intentions to us, but that is not tantamount to submitting a formal application," she says.

When contacted by ATI, Jett8 declined to comment on the matter.

The privately-owned carrier operates services from Singapore to Hong Kong and Chennai with a single Boeing 747F aircraft, according to Innovata. The airline started operations in June 2007.
