Cathay Pacific Airways has signed with Rolls-Royce for a support package for Trent 800 engines on 17 of its Boeing 777 aircraft.

The TotalCare Flex support package tailors services for customers seeking economical management of mature engines, says R-R.

It adds that the Cathay agreement is the first to be signed with an airline which is an aircraft owner and operator.

"Rolls-Royce has listened carefully to our needs for managing this mature fleet reliably and cost-effectively. We look forward to working closely with Rolls-Royce on the effective management of this fleet through the life of the agreement," says Christopher Gibbs, engineering director at Cathay.

Ascend Fleets database lists the 17 Trent 800-powered 777s as being built between 1994 and 2006.
