More than 500 industry guests were transported back to the Paris of the early 20th century as the Flight International Aerospace Industry Awards celebrated a century of aviation. Can-can dancers, pavement artistes and novelty photographers entertained the industry's good and great at the Pavillon d'Armenonville.

But it was the industry's own that were the stars with Embraer president and chief executive Mauricio Botelho winning the Aerospace Personality of the Year title. The former chairman of Rolls-Royce, Sir Ralph Robins, won the Flight International Publisher's Award for sustained achievement.
