Cessna is gearing up to deliver the first Citation Sovereign+ to a European customer, following validation of the midsize business jet by EASA on 10 June.
The $18 million Sovereign+, which entered service late last year, is a revamped version of the 10 year-old Sovereign business jet, and features winglets, a Garmin G5000 flightdeck with automatic throttles, a Clarity cabin management system, Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D engines – replacing the less efficient PW306Cs – and a range of 3,190nm (5,910km), some 150nm more than its predecessor.
“The Sovereign+ is a great fit for the European market, with its non-stop range between London and the USA or Middle East, and all European city pairs,” says Cessna vice-president for jets, Chris Hearne.
“We have a number of European customers ready to take delivery of their aircraft, and with EASA certification we can now get the Sovereign+ into the marketplace,” he adds.
Cessna says it has a fleet of 40 Sovereigns in Europe, out of a global tally of 350 of the nine-seat twinjets.
