Cessna has flown the first production Citation CJ3 light business jet three weeks ahead of schedule. The prototype has logged 85h since its first flight in April. A second production aircraft will join the test programme, with certification scheduled for the second quarter of next year. The company announced at last month's AirVenture show at Oshkosh that it had secured 330 orders for its $2.3 million Citation Mustang and was seeking to convert the $10,000 deposits into firm orders for an additional payment of $30,000, increasing to $40,000 from 1 October. First flight of the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F-powered aircraft is scheduled for 2005.
