Singapore's Changi Airport has posted a 9.2% increase in passenger traffic in November, reporting the strongest year-on-year growth so far in 2009.

The number of passengers handled by the airport grew 9.2% to 3.36 million from 3.08 million a year ago, says Changi Airport Group.

Growth was strongest on South-east Asia routes, it adds.

Aircraft movements rose 7.6% to 20,661 from 19,193, as some airlines reinstated services and increased frequencies.

In terms of cargo, air freight movements at Changi grew 4.6% to 153,000t from 146,000t, says the group.
