L-3 WESCAM has clinched an order from CHC Ireland to provide MXTM-15 electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) imaging systems for four Sikorsky S-92A search and rescue helicopters.

Installation of the turrets will be completed by Sikorsky, and the finished helicopters will be shipped to Ireland.

The S-92As will be operated by CHC Ireland from bases near Shannon, Dublin, Waterford and Sligo to support the Irish Coast Guard under a 10-year €500 million ($661.2 million) contract dating from 2010.

The first aircraft - EI-ICG - was delivered in January. A further three airframes will be handed over in 2012 and 2013, according to Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database. They replace a fleet of Sikorsky S-61Ns.
