China Eastern Airlines has completed the early redemption of a total of CNY3.3 billion ($510 million) in bonds issued in 2014.
The airline says in a stock exchange statement that, following an earlier repurchase of CNY1.72 billion in April, the outstanding principal amount of CNY1.58 billon was redeemed on 6 May. As a result, the bonds will now be cancelled.
The guaranteed bond tranche was due to mature in March 2017, and carried a coupon rate of 4.8%.
