UK-based component services company UMECO has signed an agreement to establish a foothold in the Chinese market.
UMECO signed the deal at the show with Xi'an Yanliang National Aviation Hi-Tech Industrial Base (CAIB) to establish a foreign invested commercial enterprise (FICE) in 2006. Called Ulogistics Xian, the company will provide product and supply chain services in China.

Jason Crabtree, chief executive of UMECO Components, said the deal would allow the company to better serve existing customers in the wider Asia Pacific region and allow it to expand its offering to the rapidly growing Chinese market. “We had been looking for some time for a place to locate a facility in this very important emerging market and were delighted with the facilities and infrastructure available at CAIB,” said Crabtree.

He Liang, deputy director research of CAIB, said: “We believe Ulogistics Xian will provide excellent service to aviation manufacturing companies in the Asia-Pacific region. I believe we will have a very successful co-operation.”
