Airbus will meet the Chinese aviation authorities and China Southern Airlines in June, to decide detailed training plans for A380 pilots and maintenance engineers.
China Southern will receive its first A380 at the end of next year. The airline, Airbus’s first Chinese A380 customer, is set to begin training its pilots on the ultra-large aircraft in autumn 2007. Training will take place at Airbus’s HQ in Toulouse where the company’s only A380 simulator is located.
As a precursor to the meeting a group of Airbus engineers visited China in May to share their knowledge of the aircraft’s systems and technology.
