Cessna has confirmed the sale of 42 172 Skyhawks and six Citation CJ1s to the Civil Aviation Flying University of China (CAFUC).

Cessna says all 42 172s will be shipped to China in the first quarter of 2006. The aircraft will be assembled and test flown in Wichita, but disassembled for shipment.

CAFUC will reassemble the aircraft under the supervision of a Cessna engineer. Cessna says five of the six CJ1s have already been delivered and this sixth will be delivered later this month. Flight International reported last month the first batch of CJ1s had been delivered and a deal for about 40 172s was imminent.

CAFUC has been looking for several years to acquire new primary trainers to replace its fleet of TB20/200s.
