Boeing’s CH-47F Chinook has successfully completed US Army operational evaluation (OPEVAL) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. It marks the type’s final performance hurdle before it is fielded next month.

Jack Dougherty, director, Boeing H-47 programs says: “Fielding the CH-47F will begin the next great chapter in Army aviation.”
The CH-47F is the latest incarnation of the heavylift Chinook and it features a modernised airframe, Rockwell Collins common avionics architecture system (CAAS) cockpit and a BAE digital advanced flight control system.

The advanced avionics provide improved situational awareness for flight crews with an advanced digital map.
