Cirrus SR20 and SR22 light aircraft returned to flight last week after being grounded by a deployment problem with their ballistic parachute systems, designed to recover the aircraft to a survivable landing after engine failure. Cirrus recommended grounding all 320 aircraft on 22 February after parachute supplier Ballistic Recovery Systems discovered a manufacturing defect. The problem was fixed with a cable clamp.
