CMC Electronics (Hall 4-C21-A) has won a contract to supply its CMA-2082F electronic warfare avionics management system to the Luftwaffe's Tornado mid-life improvement program.

CMC is completing the development phase of the system and expects production to start in October 2003.

The CMA-2082F/D avionics management system is a self-contained multi-function control and display unit, with on-board mission processing. It integrates navigation sensors and radios, communications radios, displays and other mission avionics and aircraft avionics.

More than 1,500 of CMC's multi-function control and display units are in use by air forces worldwide. Jim Close, president and CEO of CMC Electronics, says: "The potential exists to provide this system for over 300 aircraft, which would result in about $20 million in revenue for CMC over the next six to seven years."
