CMC Electronics has had its SureSight M-Series enhanced vision system sensor approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration for installation on Pilatus PC-12s.
The SureSight system is a factory option from Pilatus and can be used in conjunction with CMC’s PilotView electronic flight bag and is also available as retrofit kits.
“We are very pleased with the CMC Electronics M-Series EVS sensor and believe that our customers will find it to be a very effective aid in improving situational awareness,” says Mike Haenggi, marketing manager, Pilatus Business Aircraft.
The M-Series EVS sensor helps improve situational awareness by allowing pilots to see better at night and in poor visibility. The sensor weighs 1kg (2.2lb) and measures 60 x 62 x 150mm (2.4 x 2.5 x 6in). CMC says that the sensor can easily be installed in the fin or the nose of an aircraft, but for the Pilatus it is installed in the nose.
