CMC Electronics’ Class 2 PilotView electronic flight bag (EFB) has been selected by Rockwell Collins (Hall 2C, F25) for the high-speed Bombardier Global 5000 and ultra long-range Global Express XRS business jets.

The PilotView EFB enables paperless cockpit operations, including electronic charts, graphical weather, aircraft and operator manuals, while also providing cockpit connectivity and the hosting of display functions for Rockwell Collins’ Cabin Electronic System.

Cathy Bain, CMC Electronics vice president, marketing and sales, says: “Our EFB delivers a DO-160D qualified, avionics grade system that offers superior readability in a high-resolution XVGA display. For increased flexibility, the portable electronic display unit allows crews to pre-plan flights away from the aircraft.” CMC’s PilotView EFB improves productivity by enabling pre-flight planning and efficient access to up to date aircraft documentation, checklists and flight planning information. A high-quality 8.4in AMLCD display offers readability in most cockpit ambient light conditions. It also offers a “film-on-glass” touch-sensitive screen providing pilots with a choice when accessing or navigating through software applications.
