Shareholders are expected to give immediate go-ahead for Colombian carriers Aces and Avianca to begin integration. Avianca has taken heroic strides to boost its balance sheet, a prerequisite set by Aces. Juan Emilio Posada, Aces chief executive, will oversee the process, though no one has yet been chosen to head the holding company that will own both airlines.
