The US Accounting Office, the budgetary oversight arm of Congress, has launched an investigation into the $4 billion cost overrun by the International Space Station programme.
The review was requested by the House Science and Senate Committee, which _is concerned at the management decisions and policies that led to the overrun, and fears deep cuts in the science work that was the Station¹s original reason for being.
