Flight International online news 09:00GMT: National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) chairman designate Ellen Engleman Conners is to be keynote speaker at the opening general session of the National Business Aviation Association convention in Orlando on 9 November.
Engleman Conners has been nominated by President Bush to serve a second two-year term as NTSB chairman and CEO. The NTSB investigates more than 2,000 accidents every year.
"Throughout her tenure at the NTSB, Chairman Designate Engleman Conners has remained sharply focused on promoting safety for the entire aviation industry, including for business aviation," says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. "The business aviation community shares her commitment to flight safety, and we are most pleased that she has agreed to share her perspective with us."
More than 30,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors are expected to participate in this year's convention, which will cover approximately 5,000 booth spaces.
