Northrop Grumman is to perform risk-reduction demonstrations for the B-2 radar modernisation programme under an $85.9 million US Air Force contract. Replacing the B-2's radar with an active, electronically scanned array is potentially worth $900 million. The company will also produce smart bomb racks for the B-2 capable of carrying 80 GBU-38 JDAM 500lb (225kg) GPS-guided bombs, under a $31.7 million contract.
