ITT Industries Gilfillan is to supply three MPN-14K air traffic control radars to Taiwan, and upgrade seven existing systems, under a $74 million contract. Airbus has ordered a CAE Tropos visual and cabin motion system to equip an engineering development simulator for the A400M and the A380 large airliner. The simulator will have roll-in and roll-out cockpits for the two aircraft. AAI Engineering Support is to produce an additional suite of three Boeing C-17 maintenance training devices for the US Air Force under a $37.7 million contract. Rolls-Royce has received an £11 million ($17.7million) UK Defence Logistics Organisation order to provide an availability service for three RB199 engine modules. The work will be done at R-R Ansty, DARA Fleetlands and by the Wood Group, Dundee. BAE Systems is to supply a silicon-based inertial measurement unit for the South African army's ATE-developed unmanned aerial observation system. BAE has received a $9 million contract from ATK for AAR-47(V)2 laser warning sensors for installation on US Air Force and Navy helicopters and transports. Air Methods has received a Sikorsky contract for 11 multi-mission medevac systems for US Army HH-60L helicopters. Boeing is to develop integrated sensing and beam control techniques for tactical high-energy laser weapons under a $23 million US Air Force Research Laboratory contract. The MATRIX mobile testbed will be used for ground and airborne demonstrations. Engineered Support Systems has received a $13 million contract from Air Asia Technology to upgrade 40 APQ-159(V)5 radars for Taiwanese air force Northrop F-5 fighters. General Atomics and Northrop Grumman have each received $11.2 million US Navy contracts for modelling and simulation of proposed advanced arresting gear for current and future aircraft carriers. Lockheed Martin has selected Quantum2D's Independence image generator for its F-35 Joint Strike Fighter advanced concepts simulator.
