Israel Aircraft Industries' (IAI) Bedek division is discussing with Airborne Express the extension of its Boeing 767 freighter conversion contract. Bedek is contracted to convert 11 767-200s to freighter configuration for the US parcel carrier, but hopes to increase this to 20. Three aircraft have been converted, and two of them have been delivered. Efforts are continuing to secure the additional work, says Bedek general manager David Arzi.

Boeing remains hesitant to jump headlong into developing hydrogen-powered aircraft due to safety and technical challenges, despite widespread calls for aircraft developers to roll out clean-burning designs as quickly as possible.
While Embraer has so far not announced any commercial jets orders at this year’s Farnborough air show, chief executive Arjan Meijer says there are numerous deals in the pipeline for at least 300 aircraft.
