Until official findings are made public, it seems unlikely that anything useful can be added to the news of the tragic loss of the C.P.A. Comet 1A, Empress of Hawaii, with 11 lives, in a take-off crash at Karachi on March 2nd. There appears to be general agreement that the aircraft - which was on its delivery flight to Australia - failed to leave the runway, much of which it covered in a tail-down position.
