The last Saab 2000 turboprop built by the Swedish manufacturer was handed over to Crossair at the end of April, as production of the Saab turboprop models in Linköping is wound up. Two smaller Saab 340Bs remain to be delivered before production ends later this year. In all, Saab has built 521 turboprops (458 340s and 63 2000s) since production of the original 340 began in 1983. The last two 340s are scheduled to be handed over to Japanese regional carriers Japan Air System and Hokkaido Air System later this year, marking the end of Saab's involvement in regional aircraft assembly.
