The Indian Space Research Organisation has test-fired a sub-scale, pressure-fed, 1,000kg-thrust cryogenic, liquid-oxygen/liquid-hydrogen engine for 120s, from the Mahendragiri liquid-propulsion-systems centre. The test was the final one in a 14-firing programme leading to the development of an indigenous engine to power the upper stage of the Geostationary Launch Vehicle, to be supplied initially with Russian engines.
