The Bombardier CS100 has received type validation from both the US Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency, paving the way for the aircraft to be delivered to launch customer Swiss.
The validations follow the its type certification by Transport Canada in December 2015.
Swiss is scheduled to take delivery of the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G-powered aircraft at the end of June, with entry into revenue service scheduled for 15 July. It has firm orders for 15 CS100s and 15 CS300s, plus 10 options.
“Obtaining the CS100 aircraft type validations from the EASA and the FAA marks one of the final chapters in our very successful test programme,” says Francois Caza, vice president, product development and chief engineer and head of Bombardier’s Design Approval Organisation.
