DataFlight Europe has concluded a $1million deal with Singapore Airlines for its On Board Trader system to process in-flight duty-free sales, an order which the company says is a major international breakthrough for its product. The package includes an on board system and a ground-based back-office and bonded store client/server system.

DataFlight's system consists of a battery-powered touch screen computer with a built-in printer and RAM card reader/writer, a credit card reader and a bar code scanner. The in-flight trading system is expected to be installed fleet-wide on Singapore Airlines by early 1998.

In Europe, the largest current user is Scandinavian Airlines System, with more than 400 units.
