Delhi International Airport has given Turkey's Celebi Hava Servisi rights to the existing cargo terminal and it has granted East India Hotels rights to a new catering building.

Delhi airport says Turkish firm Celebi Hava Servisi has won a 25-year concession "to upgrade modernize, finance, operate, maintain and manage the existing cargo terminal."

It says it has also awarded a 25-year concession to East India Hotels to finance, design, develop, construct, operate, manage and maintain a new in-flight catering facility.

The new facility will be built on airport land and use a design from specialist Singapore design firm I+O Industry Planning and Organisation.

"This new in-flight catering facility will have initial capacity of 30,000 meals per day and in 2015 will be expanded to 40,000 meals per day."

Delhi airport also says building has started on a third passenger terminal that is due to be completed before the October 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
