Delta Air Lines’ tentative new pilot accord does not include provisions for the carrier’s planned 100-seater operations, but allows for the creation of a 200-stong fleet of 76-seat aircraft, writes Darren Shannon.

In a copy of the accord obtained by Flight International’s sister on-line news service ATI, Delta’s Air Line Pilots Association’s (ALPA) leaders have brokered a deal that relaxes the carrier’s scope limits to 76 seats from the current 70-seat restrictions, and permits as many as 200 aircraft of this size to be added to the Delta Connection feeder fleet.

Neither the airline nor ALPA will comment on the provision, citing the ongoing ratification process that is expected to be concluded on 31 May.
