Delta Air Lines announced today that it has finished the installation of full flat-bed seats in its BusinessElite cabin onboard its Boeing 777 and 767-400ER aircraft.
The Atlanta-based carrier operates eight Boeing 777-200ERs, 10 777-200LRs, and 21 767-400ERs. Delta's 777s feature 45 BusinessElite seats, while the 767-400ERs have 40, according to the carrier.
In a December blog post the company reported that "by June, Delta's entire fleet of 777s and 767-400ERs will feature flat-bed seats. Seven 767-300ERs will also get flat beds".
The carrier said on 28 June, however, that the first 767-300ER "will receive its scheduled full flat-bed in August". Delta said this fleet was starting installations later so aircraft would be available for peak summer travel.
Delta said that more than 25% of its widebody aircraft are now fitted with the new premium seats. The entire widebody fleet, which also includes Boeing 747s and Airbus A330s inherited from Northwest Airlines, are slated to be equipped with flat-bed seats by the end of 2013.
