Delta Air Lines Technical Operations (TechOps) division has confirmed a contract with Boeing to provide inventory support, component maintenance and engineering services for 29 Boeing Business Jets (BBJ). The aircraft form part of the Executive Jet NetJets fractional ownership scheme.

The deal, mooted in June, builds on a maintenance contract signed with BBJ in 1999. It also capitalises on Delta's increasing involvement in the Boeing Next Generation 737, the 57th of which is to be delivered to the airline this week.

TechOps is committed to building third party maintenance work. It is responsible for maintenance of the US Government's C-40 737 derivative fleet. It also has new maintenance contracts with Miami Air and Sun Country, plus component support for Royal Air Maroc.
