Handheld in-flight entertainment device supplier digEcor has unveiled plans to supply its L7 player to United-Continental for use by passengers in United's first and business class passengers on US transcontinental flights.

digEcor executives told ATI in September it could announce up to six customers for its L7 and L10 portable devices. Since then the company has announced Azerbaijan Airlines, Thomas Cook and Danish charter Jet Time as L7 customers.

The L7 devices being utilized by United, which merged with Continental in October, will feature 25 movies, 100 television programmes and numerous music choices. The portable players are also Wi-Fi enabled, allowing customers to access the Internet through United's Gogo in-flight Internet offering.

"We are excited about the agreement with United Airlines and our plans to help enhance in-flight entertainment options for customers," says Brad Heckel, President of digEcor.
