Dowty Aerospace Hydraulics has been chosen by Liebherr Aerospace of Germany to design, develop and supply the landing gear hydraulics for the new Bell Agusta Aerospace AB139 twin turbine helicopter.
The AB139, which is designed to take up to 15 passengers, will have retractable tricycle landing gear with the main undercarriage retracting rearwards into the fuselage.
Meanwhile, the Japanese defence agency and Shin Maywa Industries have selected the Dowty R414 advanced composite propeller system for the US-1A Kai amphibian aircraft.
The initial contract covers two sets of propeller equipment for ground testing and is due to be followed by an order for 10 sets to support the development phase.
