A Middle East Aerospace Consortium (MEAC) was launched at the show yesterday. It has been established in Dubai and Jeddah to develop and maximise opportunities for the industry in the Middle East and North Africa region through "networking, collaboration and mutual trade", it says.

John Ellis, MEAC chief executive, says: "My vision is for the Middle East Aerospace Consortium to become recognised in the Middle East and worldwide as the leading and largest regional aerospace consortium. The consortium aims to deliver benefits that assist its members in winning new business through MEAC networking events."

MEAC members will include airports, airlines and regulatory authorities from countries worldwide.
