With the 2005 Dubai airshow set to be the biggest in the event's history, construction of the third hall at Airport Expo Dubai, the show venue, is on course for completion by July.

The addition of the third hall, called the Central Hall, will add an extra 10,000m2 of floor space and take the total exhibition space to 35,000m2.

"Additional investment in the Airport Expo facility is a demonstration of our commitment to the Dubai airshow as an event of international stature with world-class facilities," said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and chairman of the Emirates Group. "It is also in line with our vision to maintain the standing of the show as among the best in the world."

The extra space has also allowed airshow organiser Fairs & Exhibitions (F&E) to create new meeting and seminar rooms within the halls.

The Dubai airshow will be held from 20-24 November. F&E says exhibitors from 37 countries have already signed up.

Among exhibitors will be at least 50 new-to-market companies. An additional nine chalets have also been added to the site.
